H1 Events of Sanya Tourism Association 2010
On Jan. 6, Association leaders took part in the opening ceremony of the Hainan International Tourism Island held at the Tianyahaijiao scenic area.
On Jan. 11, the Association held an expert symposium on “Sanya Tourism Development in the Background of International Tourism Island,” which was sponsored by the Sanya Tourist Council after the State Council published the “Opinions on Boosting Construction of Hainan International Tourism Island.” The symposium discussed Sanya tourism development programs and worked out the guidelines of international tourism island construction.
From Mar. 5 to 22, the Association assisted the Sanya Tourist Council in hosting the conference on China's top tourist sites in Sanya Metropark International Hotel.
On Mar. 11, the Association called for general managers of its member enterprises to take part in the symposium on hotel room price control during “golden week” tourist seasons in order to establish a price-control scheme to guard against large fluctuations.
On Apr. 10, the monthly Golf Friendship Tournament between member golf clubs was held at Yalong Bay Golf Club. The tournament is made up of seven rounds and held every month from April to July.
From Apr. 16 to 17, the Association proposed all tourist enterprises in Sanya raise donations for the earthquake-struck Yushu in Qinghai Province.
On May 13, the Association held a symposium for Sanya Spa club managers in the Sanya Shanhaitian Hotel, discussing how to boost development of the Sanya Spa industry, and to regulate and improve Spa-service products, with intention of making the Sanya Spa brands and their services recognizable and to make Hainan Island an international tropical destination.
On Jun. 9, the Association and chinaidaa.org co-hosted the Hotel Informatization Construction Forum 2010 in Sanya Shengyi Hotel, discussing how to improve Hainan hotels’ marketing and service abilities by means of information technology.
On Jul. 14-15, the Association management inspected hotel Spa clubs in Sanya and chose a top five.
On Jul. 20, the Association, the Sanya Justice Bureau and the Sanya Tourist Council co-hosted a legal lecture on Hainan Tourism Service and Consumer Protection for managers from its 160 member enterprises.
