Though the curtain has been drawn on the 2010 Boao Forum for Asia, the forum's effects will never come to an end.
While focusing on promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals, the Boao Forum for Asia has brought vigor to Hainan: It gained world popularity again, created more business opportunities, and most importantly, it promoted new concepts for green and low-carbon development.
Hainan Vice Governor Jiang Sixian was elected as one of the board members of the Boao Forum for Asia. Jiang said his election indicates the Board of Directors' approval of Hainan's energetic contribution and tireless efforts of the past near-decade.
The Boao Forum for Asia attracted much media attention, including foreign journalists from the Associated Press, Reuters, BBC, the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian, who reported from various angles, not only about the conference, but also about Hainan International Tourism Island.
Unlike previous years, this year's reporters paid much attention to Hainan. Some overseas media arrived days before the forum opened and had a comprehensive report on the detailed construction work, such as the construction of golf courses, Diaoluoshan tropical rainforest and tourism real estate of Sanya. Jiang said that through the media's reports, Hainan is becoming more and more famous in Asia and even around the world.
