At the 9th International Mango Symposium 2010 in Sanya, Hainan Province, officials announced that Hainan will build the first mango museum in the world.

Peng Longrong, deputy director of Hainan State Farms Bureau, said the museum will introduce the history of mangos, including the history of mango access to China and the scientific and technological achievements of the mango industry.

The mango was introduced to China more than 600 years ago.
