Wei Liucheng also pointed out that there is tremendous room for bilateral cooperation between Hainan and Macau in terms of tourism in the future. He hoped that Hainan Airlines can relaunch services to directly fly to Macau.
On the other hand, after the evening closed-door meeting with the two Chief Executives, Vice-President Xi Jinping received more than 50 members from the Hong Kong and Macau business delegations.
Xi Jinping also posed for a photo with the delegations and shook hands with each of the representatives in the front row.
Green development
In the keynote speech by the Chinese Vice-President during the Saturday opening plenary of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2010, he said that China is willing to work together with Asia to “change the development mode, fulfil green development, place high attention on technology, support innovative development, expand openness, strive towards harmonious development, continue to reinforce cooperation and mutual development, eliminate poverty, gradually realise balanced development, cultivate talents and promote all-round development”.
The other seven leaders who also made a keynote speech were from Laos, Denmark, Mongolia, Iran, Afghanistan, Timor-Leste as well as Cambodia. Each of them introduced to the plenary about their country’s economic development and promotion for a green economy. According to Xi Jinping, “green development and sustainable development are the trends in today’s world”.
In order to achieve these goals in Asia and around the globe, Xi said all Asian countries should “coordinate economic growth, social development and environmental protection, so that air, fresh water, oceans, land and forest resources which are necessary to human survival can be developed sustainably”.
