NPC deputy on Hainan's future
NPC Deputy and the Secretary of the CPC Hainan Committee, Wei Liucheng, says the province of Hainan will continue its policies of developing the island's economy and improving living standards for its residents.
Wei added that The Plan on turning Hainan Island into International Tourist destination is ready for the central government's review. He noted that the development strategy was meant to improve the lives of local residents. Wei also said that the local government will reign in volatile real estate prices, by continuing policies of temporarily freezing land transfers for commercial purposes.
Wei Liucheng, NPC Deputy of CPC Hainan Secretary, said, "The housing problem for Hainan residents needs to be properly solved. We have arranged the construction of one hundred thousand units of affordable housing. Hopefully within a couple of years, every family will have access to suitable housing. "
