Suggestions on building civilized island solicited
Suggestions on a civilization convention are being solicited around China to build Hainan into a civilized tourism destination, according to www.bitf.org.cn.
Up to February 21, more than 80 suggestions have been sent via the internet. The local civilization office, one of the organizers of the solicitation program, said that more suggestions would be welcome and could be emailed to hnswmb@163.com.
The number of visitors to Hainan is expected to increase after the State Council approves the tour promotion plan. But the problems relating to overcharging tourists for goods and services remain. One suggestion said that tour guides need to improve their qualities and the local government should regulate the tourism market.
Many people are enthusiastic about sending their suggestions, and they believe that they are responsible for creating a civilized environment for visitors to Hainan.
