Expert review on subjects of Boao Int'l Touism Forum
The first Boao International Tourism Forum is themed as Post-Financial Crisis Reform on Tourism Industry. The coordination meeting held by the Boao International Tourism Forum Committee and Sanya Work Group on January 30 said seven meetings on the theme will be held during the forum. The meetings and their subjects are:
• Ministerial Roundtable Meeting: Tourism Development and International Tourist Island Strategy;
• Media and Tourism Forum: Post-Financial Crisis Tourism and Media Development and Reform;
• Culture and Tourism Forum: Win-Win Development of Culture, Arts and Tourism;
• Real Estate and Tourism Forum: Mutual Advancement of Tourism and Tourism Estate;
• Informatization and Tourism Forum: 3G Changes Our travel Lives;
• Golf and Tourism Forum: Golf and Hainan International Tourist Island Construction; and
• Yacht Economy Forum: China Yacht Industry Development and Hainan International Tourist Island Construction.
"Those subjects are delivered in time and of great importance," said Bi Hua, director of Geology and Tourism School at Hainan Normal University. "The tourism industry was the first affected by the globally overwhelming financial crisis of 2008. After adjustment, global economy has been walking over the transom to the post-financial crisis period. The tourism industry is getting better with the economic turnabout. It is time to introspect the industry, for which the forum theme offers a platform with great significance."
With regard to subject of Ministerial Roundtable Meeting, "We can't be dogmatic in building the international tourist island, but rather we shall get together and draw on collective wisdom," Bi said. "The Ministerial Roundtable Meeting is exactly such a platform for people all over the world to discuss the tourism development and international tourist island strategy."
"The subject 'Mutual Advance of Tourism and Tourism Estate' is also very important," he said. After the construction of Hainan International Tourist Island becomes a state strategy, Hainan real estate enters a new growth stage and draws attention from people from all walks of life. The subject will focus on combination and mutual advance of tourism real estate and tourism industry, which will create a positive effect on Hainan exploration and its real estate market regulation.
"Yacht and golf are also hot issues for Hainan," Bi said. "Golf culture has been formed in Hainan. Many major golf events take place here. A brand effect has been created. The yacht industry also contributes to Hainan economy; its development will prompt the development of Hainan real estate, manufacturing industry and hotel industry. Therefore, the golf and yacht industries play an integral part for the construction of Hainan International Tourist Island."
