Maogong Mountain
Maogong Mountain, located on Baoguo farm, Ledong County, is part of the Baoguo mountain range. It is less than 50 km from the well-known attraction of Sanya – Tianyahaijiao. Maogong Mountain (Maogong Shan) gets its name from the fact that the whole mountain resembles the reclining figure of Modern China's founding father, Chairman Mao. Maogong in Chinese, means an honorable designation for Chairman Mao. The best place for viewing "Chairman Mao" is within a radius of a kilometer of the nearby Baoguo Farm. Visitors can see clearly the hair, forehead, eyes, brows, nose, mouth and body.
Additional features in the area are a Li nationality village called Liberation Village and a Miao nationality village called Red East Village. The surroundings are wonderful. Tourists here can visit a spectacular waterfall and several groups of stone scenes and experience a special ethnic atmosphere.

Tip:
The best time to go to the mountain is between 4pm and 6pm, when the whole area is often covered in mist, creating a solemn feeling.
