Changhua Ancient Town was once the county seat of ancient Changhua County. Located on the western coast of Changjiang County, it was built around 1392 as a defense against enemy attacks. The ancient town walls, two and a half kilometers long, six meters high and five meters thick, have been rebuilt and storm damage repaired.

Changhua Ancient Town is very scenic with water in front and a hill at the back. Furthermore, about two kilometers southeast of the town are the famous tourist attractions of Changhualing Mountain and Qizi Bay.
