State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television
The State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) is an executive branch under the State Council of the People's Republic of China. Its main task is the administration and supervision of state-owned enterprises engaged in the television, radio, and film industries.
It is responsible for studying and formulating guidelines and policies on radio and television broadcasts and movie creation; supervising and managing the reception and recording of television programs and satellite television programs and audio and video programs broadcasted on the information network to the public; approving the setup and cancellation of radio and TV broadcasting institutions at country levels and the producers of film, radio and televsion programs and teleplays.
