General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) is the competent authority directly under the State Council in charge of press and publication undertakings and administration of copyrights. In respect of copyright administration, it executes responsibilities and rights internally and externally in the name of National Copyright Administration. It is responsible for regulating and distribution news, print and Internet publications. This include granting publication licenses for periodicals and books.
