China Development Bank (CDB) was established in 1994 and is one of the three policy banks in China. On December 11, 2008, CDB was re-organized into China Development Bank Corporation, a joint-stock corporation.

By the end of 2008, CDB's total assets reached 3,821.2 billion yuan and its net profit reached 20.8 billion yuan. The bank's non-performance loan ratio was 0.96 percent by 2008 year-end.
